Speak your Mac OS X with a Simple command

It is possible to force your Mac to tell you what you want with a simple command line from the terminal application. Not only does this allow for some good old-looking fun, but it may even come depending on the situation.

Making your Mac talk with the Terminal app

It really features an innovation, but we still think it's a fun one. If you are trying to play a party on a DJ guest, it might be a ridiculous way to start off the party or to announce a song during the game. In addition, having some Mac may be an easy way for you, or simply to entertain yourself and your friends. Whatever the reason, we will show you how to talk to Mac through a Terminal app with a very simple command in this tutorial.

Choosing the voice you want

1) Turn on the system preferences app and open the "Dictation and Speech" desired result.

2) Click on the "Text-to-Speech" tab so you can see the settings so that you can see the tinker.

3) Click the "System Voice" combo box to reveal all your voice options.

4) Select a voice starting from the drop-down menu that shows up.

Command your Mac to say something with Terminal

Now you can run the command when you choose what voice you want to use to say what your Mac says. Go ahead and start your Mac's terminal app and type the following command, and then press the return key on your keyboard:

 say“Anything in these quotation marks will be said by me, your Mac. Go ahead; try it.”  

The result should have been your Mac: "Some of these quotation marks will be told by me, your mac goes ahead; try it" with the previously selected voice in this tutorial. If you do not hear anything, check to upgrade your volume and enter the command correctly.If you want you can change the text in the quotation marks and it will be best to speak your Mac properly. For example, the following command is called "Hi iDownloadBlog!" Will say

  say “Hi iDownloadBlog!”   

As you should expect, voice software is not perfect and will almost always be some kind of pronouncing some things.
